Gronest

The right fabric for ideal plant pots?

In traditional flower pots, the roots sooner or later collide with the impenetrable wall of the pot and are forced to grow in a circle. This phenomenon is called the rotary root effect and weakens the plant in the long run because it cannot form a healthy root system.

Gronest plant bags have permeable walls. As the roots grow through, the root tips come into contact with the air and naturally atrophy. The plant then begins to develop many delicate fine roots, creating a healthy and richly branched root system.

The air-permeable material ensures that the substrate and roots are supplied with sufficient oxygen. This ventilation not only ensures stronger roots, but also promotes colonisation with good microorganisms and bacteria.
